Parish Youth Ministry (PYM)

We have 11 Parish Youth Ministry all together from different parish under the care of Kuching Archdiocese Commission for Youth as below:

  • Parish Youth Ministry, St Stephen”s Parish (Bau)
  • Parish Youth Ministry, St Ann’s Parish (Kota Padawan)
  • Parish Youth Ministry, St Theresa’s Parish (Serian)
  • Parish Youth Ministry, St Jude’s Parish (Bunan)
  • Parish Youth Ministry, Our Lady Queen Of Peace’s Parish (Sri Aman)


a.  Archdiocesan Youth Seder Passover Meal (14 March 2015)

There were 21 Youth leader from various parishes including 1 sister joined the Seder Passover Meal which was organized by Empowered Ministry. The purpose of organizing this was to practice our personal lent reflection experience as well as a reference for the groups who may wish to host a similar meal within their own group in the future.

b.  KAYD 2015 Roadshow in Bau (1 March 2015)

Approximately 80 Youths from Bau area join the roadshow which Talk, sing along and Divine Mercy were included in the program

c.  KAYD 2015 Roadshow in Lundu. (14 February 2015)

There were 128 youths from Lundu area came and joined the roadshow. The Roadshow was started with a Youth Mass at 5.30pm presided by Fr Peter Liston and Fr Lazarus Swinie. The cross was sent during the procession of the mass by Marketing and promotion team together with the coordinators of KAYD 2015. The theme for KAYD 2015 was taken from Matthew 5:1-12, “The Beatitudes”.

d.  Alpha Youth in St Peter Padungan Church (5 December – 7 December 2014)

The event was attended by 76 participants including facilitator from various parishes and diocese. The aim of the event was to train the young people and to equip our young people in order that they may share to their fellow Youth in their schools or parishes.


e.  Youth Camp Holy Spirit Lundu (5-7 December 2014)

There were 120 participants from Lundu area joined the Youth Camp. Miss Lucy and Stephanie Ng were invited to give a talk about the issues affected young people today and a session about Relationship with God.


f.  Frere Andreas of Taize visit to Kuching (2-5 December 2014)

He went to St. Theresa’s Church, Serian, Holy Trinity Church, Kenyalang and St. Patrick, Krokong. In St. Theresa’s Serian, he met the catechists, some of the youth and the priests. There were more than 50 parishioners gathered in Holy Trinity Church for their monthly Holy Hour. Brother Andreas assisted in singing the Taizé songs. He showed a video with more than 20 youth including parents on how the young people from different continents live their life in Taizé in St. Patrick, Krokong. Then, he led a Taizé prayer there. His final evening prayer in Kuching was held at A.C.C.P.C. in which there were about 50 catechumens including youth and parents attended.

a.  Wonderfully made in Serian ( 7 March 2015)

Approximately 235 students from various schools attended the program organized by Teachers’ Guild in Serian. The students were from form 1 to form 6. Addressed the following issues: abortion, masturbation, pornography, cybersex and safe sex.
